August 30 WALL STREET, NEXT WEEK:

1.  ASTRODATES
2.  BEAR TRENDS
3.  POLL
4.  LAS VEGAS INVESTING
5.  LETTERS

1.  9/9 NEW MOON 6.02 PM
9/10  Venus goes Direct
9/23 Sun enters Libra  7:32 am
9/25  HARVEST FULL MOON 6:51 am
10/11 JUPITER SQUARE NEPTUNE

2. For bears, both cosmic and terrestrial, Alan Greenspan might finally become your friend.  The stock market euphoria following an interest rate hike was one BIG Christmas present stock market short. With Jupiter changing direction last week and now retrograde until December, what does that portend for stock market wealth?  That the good times will last forever? It REALLY IS different this time? I don't think so, but those that remain fully invested at today's manic pricing are betting with their pocketbook it is.
Any rally into September 1,2, could be your last chance this year to get out with your head above water!

We are currently reviewing accounts with an eye to adding to both Gold and Silver stock positions. Britain will conduct its second auction of 25 tons on September 21. This may be a non-event, or at most a blip on the way to a seasonal high.

Key Dates:   September 1
DJIA:               11000 Floor and11200 Ceiling Tests
US BONDS:  SELL
GOLD:          BUY

3. A poll Reuters conducted on Tuesday after the Fed hiked its key federal funds rate and its discount rate 25 basis points to 5.25 percent and 4.75 percent respectively, showed 25 of 29 Wall Street firms thought the Fed was done raising short-term U.S. interest rates for the year.
HW: Many also thought on July 1 there would be no more rates increases this year. Obviously, they are not WSNW platinum subscribers!  Last week we issued a Platinum Global Opportunity Alert recommending aggressive selling of US bonds.  One more rate increase and/or yields approaching 6.40% - NOT 5.25% and we will, like many money managers, dramatically change our asset allocation model for North American clients.

4. "Newbie investors who feel lucky should use their gambling money normally spent in Las Vegas, Atlantic City or Monte Carlo. Experienced investors should use their RISK Capital, i.e., money they can easily afford to lose, without materially affecting their life style.

There are many ways to make money in the market, and many markets to make money in. In these silver investing posts, we will be covering four popular Las Vegas style investments: Canadian Penny Stocks, US Microcaps - OTC BB and Pinks Sheets, Option Buying and Emerging Markets....  " WSNW subscribers, goto: LAS VEGAS INVESTING.

5.  READER: Is this a good time to change my stock around to different investments?
HW: Absolutely.

READER: What do you think about Ralph Acampora of Prudential Securities saying that he thinks the Dow will be at 13,000 by New Year's Eve.  And if this happens and you are wrong about the decline to 7,001....
HW: I think perhaps he may already have started drinking bubbly to celebrate! :)
Ours is a trading target. As long as we get close to 7,001 BEFORE December 31 we will be happy.

READER: You keep talking about this mega correction...when will it happen?  Looks like the eclipse was a nonevent, in fact seemed to start yet another rally...I wonder if your bearish view isn't getting in the way of objectivity here.
HW: While I do view the "stock market cup" as half empty and not half full, I don't think so. Continue to read WSNW and watch what happens.

READER: In your pick of the month, wouldn't September be a grand pick for IHI with all what is going on in their month?
HW: Yes, but for me, IHI is a stock of the month pick every month as the R/R remains stellar.

READER: Can you please let me know on which date in November 99 Saturn is exactly square Uranus?
HW: Sunday, November 14th.

READER: You said: "If you do not yet have an established trading system that you double or triple screen with our work, I would suggest initially using the standard 3-1 R/R, that way even if you are right only 1/2 the time you make money."
R/R is risk/reward, but what is the standard 3-1 you refer to?
HW: If you have a profit target of 6, use a stop of 2 (1/3 of 6). With a profit target of 300, then use a stop of 100 (1/3 of 100) etc.  Because I am constantly watching a screen, I use "end of day" stops.  If your stop is too tight and could be hit without invalidating the trade, you should not enter into the trade UNLESS the probability of success if very high.

READER: 90% CORRELATION TO 1929 I have Friday, September 2nd as a date for THE TOP.  We'll see, according to astrologic cycles, this date is highly reliable as cyclic turning point.  If we are rallying sharply into that date, a good r/r OEX and QQQ put trade will set up.
HW: We have September 1 as a good day to enter shorts, although QQQ has already topped!

READER: This market is setting itself up for even a greater correction, but I have the feeling we are still going a lot higher. A friend of mine who is a broker at xxx ($1MM producer) says he has given up on the normal steps for sound Financial Planning.  Grandma is "going to buy no matter what the advice."... I started in the business in 1987 and this is looking all too familiar.  All I can say is "wow."
HW: Personally, I always use sound Financial Planning whether clients have their head on straight or not.  Otherwise, I could NOT sleep at night and would be more bullish on the drug sector.

READER: I am an experienced clairvoyant astrologer who is very interested in your website and column, I like what you said about IHI and would like to know more. Just what I can do to learn more about astrological forecasting as it pertains to this company.
HW: You can find relevant astrological data at our IHI posts at IHI CommentsVIII and our forthcoming IHI CommentsIX.

READER: I am for trading short OR long term. Speculating a little on whatever you recommend. Would you personally hold a stock like IDTC for a while, anticipating an otherwise down market, or trade when you get some profit?
1) Depends on what price you bought it and
2) What else you own that is similar or hedged to this.
IDTC is for me a trading stock as it is Internet flavored and therefore likely to remain volatile.  We have already traded this particular one for a profit and would use an intraday trailing stop about 2 points below the previous day's close.

READER: Sometimes, I don't understand how can astrology miss a such a moves on the market.
HW: There are different systems of astrology just as there are different systems of technical analysis.  I play R/R and probability, as my goal is to make money consistently over time, although not on every play (going in with eyes WIDE OPEN) to the possibility of loss.  My clients pay me to make them a profit, not to be a prophet.

READER: I have just had a look at the Dow chart and you would have to ask are we forming a triple top?
HW: It is certainly possible and THE WAY WE prefer TO BET!
