I hope you enjoyed your Chinese New Year as well as Saturday's Uranus flavored Solar Eclipse. What does that mean? Day traders will continue to rule [skyrocketing sales for trader's diapers] and we expect to experience some REAL market excitement soon.
Hourly wages - a key component of inflation -- rose a faster-than-expected 0.4 percent as reported Friday. Well, well, the slaving masses are demanding their fair share. About time I'd say. That along with record bankruptcies drives us to a week by week Nasdaq melt down watch. While we may have to wait until May's Saturn Uranus Square, it could be by March. Enjoy these last dances on the Titanic.
The US dollar needs every possible interest rate increase to hold onto power. While we do not post on WSNW our precise Forex targets and timing, we can say that after this is done, so is the US dollar secular bull trend. Of course it should remain better than the Yen, Yuan and Peso (slightly), but not as good as the Euro or Gold.
KEY DATES: February 7
NASDAQ: -> Sell until
3500
DJIA:
-> Sell until 10,000
Bonds:
-> Sell until 6.80%
2. The Astrologers Fund Inc. February Stock of the Month Picks are:
Laidlaw: (LDW) price under 4 and as close to 3 1/4 as possible.
P1 Target is $5, P2 Target is $6.
MFebruary Stock of the Month Pick is IHITF. Price .76 to .85
P1 Target is $1.20, P2 Target is $2.
3. "February is an ugly period for (equities). This buy on dips thing
I don't think is going to work. We've violated a number of technical indicators
and we have rising interest rates. All of that means you could have down
drafts, quite big down drafts. Why be heroes?''
John Ing, president Maison Placements Canada.
4. A WSNW reader wrote "Why am I so bullish? Well you see, Roger's
natal Saturn aspects 10th career house and coupled with transit Saturn
aspecting natal Mars (Mars being current Dasha lord) has been the cause
of the delays and obstacles. Roger is soon to start his RAHU maha-Dasha,
and the materialistic Rahu conjunct Sun in Leo causes two powerful Raj-Yogas
of the 9th house of good fortune, coupled with a trigger of a powerful
Neech-Bhanga Raj-Yoga in the 10th house is the reason WHY I AM SO BULLISH!
PS I have done PURELY ONLY astrological analysis on 8 companies and
so far I am up on average 700% and locked in profits (And only Two of them
are Internet related!)"
HW: I was initially going to write a lot about IHI,
but I think the above astrological analysis is sufficient. February
is a seasonal positive for IHI, and another reason we made it our Microcap
February Stock of the Month Pick. International Hi-Tech Industries
(IHITF) merits a close watch by fundamental, technical and astrological
analysts as well as a potential winner for both short term traders and
long term investors.
READER: The only thing that separates IHI from success is a few million
dollars for the robotics needed to put the first manufacturing line into
production. I don't understand how such a relatively small amount
of money can be so difficult to acquire. At full capacity, the first
factory is expected to generate profits of U.S. $2 million a month per
shift. Why doesn't management focus all its effort and attention
to get the money needed to launch this juggernaut?
HW: I agree and it is my understanding that Roger is doing JUST that.
5. AFUND CLIENT: Just wanted to send you a note to express how pleased
I am with your management. I can't figure out whether watching my
money grow or knowing that it is happening at the hands of an astrologer
gives me more pleasure.
HW: Thank you.
READER: Is Laidlaw symbol LDM.TO or LDW?
HW: Both. If you are Canadian, you would buy on Toronto TDM.TO. Elsewhere
I recommend buying on the US market LDW.
READER: Is your firm still affiliated with DCHT? If so, would you be
so kind as to provide a brief statement regarding their growth potential.
HW: No. However, their growth potential is huge; see our final
posting on DCHT can be found at: DCHT.
READER: I think your comments are already dated because PLUG has already
corrected 50%.
HW: That is not enough with Nasdaq ready to collapse or at least retrace
1/3.
READER: I am somehow confusing IHI and IHITF. Are they inter-related?
For a while I thought they were the same, and "IHI" was used for a shortened
symbol for IHITF. But both were mentioned in your latest bulletin.
I have owned some IHITF for quite sometime, thinking it is the one that
has been recommended for medium to long-term.
HW: Yes, on Canada International Hi-Tech Industries trades on the CDVE
as IHI, while on the US Bulletin Board it trades as IHITF. It remains
a strong buy for intermediate/long term accumulation. I do not refer to
IHI (NYSE) or Information Holding which I do not track and therefore cannot
intelligently comment on.
READER: This last year I have incurred some substantial losses by following
Henry Weingarten's advice. I am not a trader; some stock picks are
purely for short-term gains and if that is not made clear, the longs take
a beating. It would truly help to be less vague. e.g. I sold Baanf
after the 10 point dive, I sold all my 300 Yahoo last August at $150 based
on your view of extreme overvaluation, I took a total loss on 10,000
shares of Shg bought at 15/16, bought cvd at 16 1/2. On the
other hand, I am doing great on Biom, Dcht and Url. Thank you.
HW: Before you enter ANY trade or investment, you should know in advance
why are you buying, what your targets are and what your exit strategy is.
On Baanf for example, you could have made a substantial profit before it
corrected. Yahoo is a trading vehicle, not a buy and hold short.
etc.
To follow ALL my recommendations, you would have to be a global hedge fund. We could be buying and selling the same stock at the same price in two different portfolios. For example, I could be selling some UNDR that we bought at .10 for one client at $1 (after 1000% profit, yet be buying for another client at $1 because I like the news story that allowed me to sell for my first client). I realize this is confusing and I will try to be more clear, but these are very tricky markets, not buy and hold markets and that is why I ALWAYS recommend checking with your licensed financial planner or broker BEFORE buying or selling on the Astrologers Fund, Inc.
READER: Henry Correction: Re Lucent bet. If you lose, dinner is in New
York; If I lose dinner is in New Jersey.
HW: Yes, but you should remember when Lucent first went up 300%, I
advised some selling. Then again when LU rose 500%, I advised selling more.
Last century, it was up 700%, but now that it is back to barely 500% profits,
my bet as I know you realize, was to prod you to further lock in your profits.
READER: STOX.COM- you need to keep watching this one. It's positioned
to take off. Expect highs of $18 this month. Perhaps a dip in April. Fuller
recovery in June and a strong possibility of $30+. Just an opinion... still
very speculative. They're aiming to do it right the first time and as you
say possibilities for expansion into other areas.
HW: While your intermediate price targets are higher than mine,
I have no objection if you are right. I am not planning on selling
it anytime soon.
READER: I think I am going to subscribe to Wall Street, Next Week, but
would also like a daily commentary on the markets. Do you provide something
daily?
HW: Yes, if you subscribe
to our Gold edition, it includes access to our daily market commentary.
This is $300 per quarter or $1000 per year.
READER: I can see astrologically that the negative dates you give are
correct, however, I do see March as an UP month. What is your opinion?
Also, do you see sectors that have been beaten down, finally moving up
short term?
HW: One could argue for March being a secondary top for the year,
especially given the influx of IRA money up to April 15. Still the
jig IS most definitely up. This is why we advise to dance by the exit.
As to sector rotation, yes, but what analysts today consider "beaten up"
is a joke. A 5-25% correction is not beaten up. 50% 75% 90% - THAT is beaten
up.
