Q: Are there any decent programs under $100.00?
A: NO. You may find programs within this range in general computer/ software stores, but most of them are at least extremely limited and generally unreliable in terms of the reference material they are based upon.
Q: Is there any discount if I buy more than one package at the same time?
A: There is a so called "4 for 3" deal available for the most Matrix calculation and interpretation programs, which can save you up to $300 when you buy 4 packages at the same time. Time Cycles Research (TCR) - the leading manufacturer of astrological software for Macintosh - also offers special prices for different program bundles.
Q: Can report writers be used separately from calculation program?
A: Most Matrix and TCR interpretation programs can be used separately from both other report writers and the major calculation program itself. The drawback is that you can't integrate them to work together, use charts created by one program for interpretation by another, or generate any chart other than this program is designed to interpret. Almost all Kepler report writers REQUIRE Kepler to be installed prior to use them.
Q: Can reports be edited?
A: Reports based on writings of famous astrologers can NOT be edited. However, there are programs that allow you to export their output to files editable by major word processors. TCR report writers make it possible to export reports to HTML format for subsequent use on the Web.
Q: Are there programs on languages other than English?
A: First of all, keep in mind that you really do NOT need a chart calculation program on language other than English due to the nature of information that has to be entered and the symbolic nature of chart themselves. On the other hand, most of the report writers from Matrix are available in all major Western European languages; Kepler adds to that Russian versions as well. Be aware, though, that EACH international version is the SEPARATE program, which must be purchased exclusively and (in most cases) for the full price.
Q: What are system requirements for Windows programs?
A: The main considerations here are CPU and memory. Our real-life based recommendations are: at least 486DX2-66 with 16 MB of RAM (which allows you not only install, but USE software smoothly). All programs from Matrix are 16-bit applications and can be used with both Windows 3.x and Windows 95/NT. Kepler offers different versions for 16- or 32-bit environments. Programs are generally distributed on CD-ROM, but run from hard drive, so CD-ROM drive is not a requirement - you can place a special order for 3.5" floppy disks.
Gaileo being high end, requires 32 megs of memory and a Pentium processor, but 64 Megs would be better.
Q: What are system requirements for Mac programs?
A: Here the major issue is the operating system - Mac OS 7.0 or later is required. You also need to have at least 3 MB of RAM and a hard drive
Q: What do you use in house?
A: In the NY Astrology Center, we use the Matrix and Kepler lines.
For astrological caculations, I personally use the best, Gaileo on my desk top.
Q: What do you recommend?
A: That depends on your intended use(s). Either Matrix Win Star plus ($300) or Kepler ($250-$300). Time Cycles best for Mac users and if you are an elitist and lesen Deutsch, then

Q: What is the best software for interpretation purposes?
A: Indra is the best single natal package, but runs only with Kepler. Astro*Carto*Graphy Explained for locational astrology is quite good.
Many people like the Matrix line, which is much like going to a standard astrologer.
Q: What software do you recommend for investors or traders?
A: For calculation purposes, Gaileo when the English edition is available. While I know of no holy grails, the best would be
AIR's Financial Trader as it is the only commercial package written by a professional billion dollar money manager.
Q: What do you use for trading?
A: I use an Alpha version of proprietary software running on a massively parallel advanced biocomputer with 100+ gigs of active memory in client communication with the Celestial CPU server. :)
