FINANCIAL ASTROLOGY FOR THE SUCCESSFUL INVESTOR AND TRADER

1. MAY MARKETS
2. UP STARS/DOWN STARS
3. ASTRONUT
4. QUOTES
5. ON THE WEB
6. LETTERS
7. AFUND LETTERS

HAPPY 213th BIRTHDAY NYSE
The New York Stock Exchange was born May 17, 1792. As many WSNW readers already know, a prominent Venus/7th House is perhaps the major cause of its forthcoming merger with Archipelago.
We apologize for not finishing our May 2005 stock market update, but hope to have it posted on our website very shortly.

SAY WHAT?
The US$ is strong because the US economy is strong, but US bonds are up because the US economy is weak?
High oil prices matter to Walmart customers [WMT down] , but not to Target customers, [TGT up]?
Oil was down because 1) the economy is weak or 2) supply is greater than demand?
Nasdaq is up, but the SPX and Dow are down?

TRADERS:  We have expanded our short term trading range 5 points to SPX 1035 to 1085. However, we see strong overhead NASDAQ resistance 1985-2000 and would continue to strongly sell that price level.

INVESTORS: While our plan is to buy dips (and sell rallies) again this week, don’t forget we are also on an Investing DISTRIBUTE/ SELL into any MAY strength. We believe markets will have reached an intermediate term peak by the end of this month or early June.

GUEST HYDE PARK SOAPBOX: United pension-dumping is bad sign for everyone
”Simply stated: if United Airlines is allowed to dump its' pension obligations on the Federal Government, no one's corporate pension plan will be worth the paper the agreement is written on.”

KEYDATES:        May 17, 18, 19
DJIA:                   10000 SUPPORT 10200 PIVOT 10400 RESISTANCE
SPX:                    1155 PIVOT
NASDAQ:           DISTRIBUTE 1985-2000
XAU:                    Last gold hedge accumulation

Market Marker Sentiment: First Bullish, then Bearish.
DON’T BUY AND HOLD: BE LIQUID WITH A BALANCED AND DIVERSIFIED PORTFOLIO!
2003 CLOSE:        DJIA 10453, SPX 1111 & NASDAQ 2003
DIJA:                     2 ~ FV 0 UV; 5 offer 4%+ Dividends.
While the internal Stock Market astrology is mixed, the external risk potential is high. Looking ahead, my question is whether 2006 will show slow growth less than 2%, no growth, or turn into a classical recession.
PRESERVE CAPITAL: FOCUS ON PROTECTING AGAINST DOWNSIDE RISK.

2.  With XAU circa 78, we are recommending our final gold accumulation. Futures buys will be Trading buys, not investing-hedges as they have been over the past four to eight weeks.

3. As Jupiter is ending its sojourn through Libra, Crain’s New York Business reports that the “Art market surges as collectors bid up new works.”
·    “Brett Gorvy of Christie’s: “There is such a hunger for art right now that there’s a craziness in the level people are willing to pay.”
·    “There is definitely a bubble,” says Louise Eliasof, Citigroup Private Bank Art Advisory Service.
·    “You don’t have a lot of time to sit back and watch an artist grow anymore, “Ms Glasser modern art consultant says. “You feel like you’re waiting in line for a lottery ticket.”
Sound familiar? As with other bubbles such as the real estate market, the path of wealth preservation is to Sell, NOT Buy.

4. "This is what I call normalcy, not stagflation,"
Joel Naroff, chief economist, Commerce Bank
HW: How soon they forget!

“When you see mergers and acquisitions, it's a sign of confidence and companies really looking toward the future. The stock market is a pretty prudent place to be.''
Philip Dow, director of equity strategy, RBC Dain Rauscher
HW: Even if markets gain 10% in 2005 as you forecast, the stock market is not a prudent place to be.  M&A is the old paradigm, in 2006 it will be more Distressed Investing.

"We have some indications that inflation may not be a long-term problem. If we get surprised on the downside in these price numbers, it could be a strong equity week."
Ernie Ankrim, chief investment strategist, Russell Investment Group
HW: If any one is gullible enough to believe a downside inflation number surprise, please send me their name. I am forming a new syndicate to buy the Brooklyn Bridge once again!

5. Armor-Plating Your Portfolio
HW: A good list except for FNM and FRE.

These are shaping up as promising times to be investing for long-term growth.

The ten best each give us three stocks they're bullish on now.

6. READER: I have two questions:
What is your long trading target for ENZ?  (I bought some @ $14 a week ago)
HW: P1 15.50 P2 16.50 P3 18.
And how do I get your weekly broadcast.  I did great when I down loaded your talk on FOX News, buy I do not get anything when I double click on your blue "Trading By the Stars".
HW: Have you downloaded the current free version of Real Audio Player? If so, then the problem could be just Internet traffic. Try again in about 30 minutes.

READER; Gold shares continue to sink.  Maybe purchased them a little too early?
HW: If you bought as a short term trade, buying gold shares ahead of June was too early.  If you bought as a hedge as we recommended, then you did not. Also, remember THAT we usually try to be a dash early as we trend anticipate rather than trend follow.

7. HERE WE TALK ABOUT AFUND CLIENTS

READER: Tell me about TNX Television [TNXT].
HW: TNXT is for gambling money, or very aggressive high risk capital. If you are willing to lose .03 to .05, you can make .25 or more.  I like that R/R!

READER: Any comment on [IHI ] news release? Guess still the same old promising of things that should happen in future.
Still looking forward to see opening of one of their factories.
HW: While it does not show the production that most shareholders expected this year, it does show some progress in foreign markets as well as the development of new products that can be sold easily into the marketplace. I would hope and expect sales from this to come in the second half of the year.
