WELCOME THE CHINESE NEW YEAR: HAPPY YEAR OF THE ROOSTER
Many Chinese consider their country to be shaped like a rooster, and on February 9th will be greeting this lucky and auspicious animal sign. FYI: The word for "rooster" has the same pronunciation as "luck" in Chinese language.
China's brand names prepare to go global
“The Chinese government has said it wants at least 50 Chinese firms in the Fortune 500 list of the world's largest companies by 2010.”
Our advice to WSNW readers is while there are obviously many profitable short and long term opportunities in China, be very cautious and selective, until after the dust from the Chinese Big Bang settles.
Our complimentary advice to the Chinese Central Bank is to change the Yuan peg to 7.8 before the April 8 Solar eclipse!

Looking ahead: Slowing consumer spending, earnings and economic growth, higher interest rates and raw materials costs and increasing global competition. So despite another short squeeze, a rally attempt much beyond the January 3rd highs are not in the cards for midFebruary.

TRADERS:         WACKY MARKETS will continue throughout February as uncertainty over the future remains
INVESTORS:     Our four favorite Q2 2005 sectors are Alternate Energy, Mining, Health Care and VOIP.

KEYDATES:    FEBRUARY 8, 9
DJIA:               10500 PIVOT
SPX:                1200  PIVOT
NASDAQ:       2120  RESISTANCE
GOLD:            415  SUPPORT

Market Marker Sentiment: First Bullish, then Bearish.
DON’T BUY AND HOLD: BE LIQUID WITH A BALANCED AND DIVERSIFIED PORTFOLIO!
2004 CLOSE:             DJIA 10784, SPX 1211 & NASDAQ 2175
2003 CLOSE:            DJIA 10453, SPX 1111 & NASDAQ 2003
DIJA:         2 ~ FV 0 UV; 5 offer 4%+ Dividends.
While the internal Stock Market astrology is mixed, the external risk potential is still high.

2. “It is not what it was, but telecom IS growing again. As the telephone world continues to merge with data/computers, this increasing competition will be creating numerous winners and losers. One obvious result is that both consumers and business customers will continue to see lower mobile and fixed line expenses for the foreseeable future. M&A action is likely to be one major stock price driver in 2005 as it was with ATT recently. With SBC taking over ATT, we have added Bell South (BLS) as a replacement.  Note: all three rich dividend paying baby bells BLS, SBC and VZ still maintain good financial health and profitability, but currently offer somewhat limited growth potential.
The new hot key application continues to be Voice over IP (VOIP). Accordingly, we are watching with interest Cisco, the obvious major winner here, along with much smaller companies that stand to benefit: DDDC, TRIN, VOII and YAKC.”

3. Living in New York is expensive. The debut issue of Ultimate Homes ranks the most expensive and spectacular real estate properties on the market. Of potential personal interest are the three New York properties on its “top 10 list”, including the top two:
No.2: For $70 million, a penthouse atop the Pierre Hotel in New York City that has the highest-ever asking price for a Manhattan apartment, plus a $47,700-a-month maintenance fee.
No.1: Topping the list at $75 million, a Bridgehampton, N.Y., estate with an 18-hole golf course, 14 gardens, 60 acres of land, a 75-foot swimming pool, waterfront views and more than 20,000 square feet of living space.
Unfortunately, the recent 30% US dollar decline will help support the high price of these properties. However, as we plan to be buying in the market later in 2006, the question my wife and I often ponder is: Whether a $100 million home will be sold before 2010? Astrologically, I just don’t see it before 2007/2008, given my view of a very toppy US real estate market that has for too long defied the laws of gravity.

4. “There are no magic bullets if the dollar were to seriously tumble. You can’t reach into a bag of tricks to quickly make it stop.”
Stuart Hoffman, chief economist, PNC Financial Services Group
HW: I know you don’t believe the dollar is going to fall off a cliff. I hope you are right.

“You don’t need to worry about market demand when it comes to health care.”
Lui-Er Chen, manager, Evergreen Health Care Fund
HW: Can’t argue with that!

“`Interest rates rising are positive for our business because the fact that rates rise creates a better economic value for renting versus owning.''
Rick Campo, chief executive officer, Camden Property Trust
HW: If so, then it may be time to research apartment REITS such as Avalon Bay (AVB), BRE Properties (BRE), Home Properties (HME) and United Dominion Realty Trust (UDR).

5. The Bulls Pull for the Eagles

January Barometer' predicts a pretty lousy year

 IT CERTAINLY FEELS LIKE 1929

6. READER: It seems to me the gold is going up again. Do you still recommend PDG?
HW: Yes, by July 2005, but its price wont be going up in a straight line. If an intermediate term investment/hedge, 16-17 is a good buying area.

HERE WE TALK ABOUT AFUND CLIENTS
Our new first price targets for TNXT are: P1 .22, P2 .31 and P3 .38.
IHI reached .25, our internal projection for the end of January, as forecast.  It is .30+ in February.
We have just done a brief update of our former client HESG at Health Sciences post on our website. Of interest astrologically, is that it has two and probably three more strongly positive astrological events ahead in 2005.  Depending on whether you are an investor or trader, a prudent use of stops, new entries, and re-entries could very profitable in 2005.

READER: I did DD on TNXT and it looks interesting.  Based on the bounce yesterday, I purchased some today at .20 but now down to .16.  It appears TNXT has bottomed and may look good for the long run. What I do not understand is why you did not do the chart on TNXT before placing it in your new Season Speculator newsletter.  What was it that caused you to approach it that way?
HW:  It was on the publisher’s insistence.  What happened is probably one of the best reasons to USE astrology, but I cannot in this case. However, I have now, and things look very promising for the next 4-8 weeks.

READER: Your WSNW mentioned that President is kicking for next two weeks.  Are you still of the opinion that TNXT will be going up the next few days?
HW: Yes.

READER: I hope you are receiving now some positive emails regarding price of IHI. The price of course needs some fundamental announcement though to keep going.
HW: Yes, it seems when a stock appreciates more than 100% short term, I receive very few complaint letters! Of course the current price of IHITF, under .30, still fully discounts any significant future production.  It is hoped that by Spring, when its Hi-Rise permits are obtained, that the stock will do another double, rather than fall back to its old very undervalued levels.
