THE COMING XMAS RALLY
The Stock market is beginning to get ahead of itself. The Nasdaq above 1931
and the DJIA above 10,000 are viewing the economy with rose colored glasses.
Current economic data will show few signs that the U.S. economy is emerging
from its slump until the Spring 2002. We recommend strictly watching value.
Take profits when stocks rise too much, too fast – as is likely to take place
this December and even before, given the likelihood of the strong Ben Laden
take out victory rally coming as well.
MSCI AND NASDAQ 100 INDEX CHANGES
November 30, 2001, the MSCI index changes; the composition of the Nasdaq
100 will change before year end. They will lighten up on technology company
holdings, and SO SHOULD YOU! “By year end, the Nasdaq 100 will reduce
technology companies from 78% to 65%” said chairman Simmons. Therefore our
advice is to REDUCE well before year end, given Nasdaq fine recent performance.
DECEMBER TAX SELLING
Despite record short interest on the NYSE, most fund mangers including yours
truly expect an economic recovery in the second half of 2002. This will favor
cyclical stocks that until recently performed badly. We intend to accumulate
this sector, among others, in the Spring. In the meantime, take advantage
of any share losses this year by washing them with long term holdings that
are not likely to outperform in 2002/2003.
SHORT TERM: Accumulate on Weakness/Sell on Strength.

Now THERE IS LIGHT AT END OF THE TUNNEL: Saturn-Opposition Pluto ends May
2002!
INVESTORS: FALL 2002 markets will be HIGHER than today.
3. With the third and final pass the Saturn/Pluto aspects May 2002, followed
by Jupiter opposition Neptune in September 2002, we expect many changes in
the travel industry sector. Currently we are still under the affects of the
911 tragedies, timed to the Saturn (security) opposed by Pluto (terrorism).
Early to mid 2002, these aspects will refavor long distance travel, cruise
lines, hotel chains and the survivor airlines. Until then, more travel
will be local with selective regional hotels and attractions outperforming.
Outside of our favorite high yield hotel Reits MHX and FCH, we only trade
travel stocks for quick profits but will NOT hold them into calendar 2002.
4. the Heavenly Star Bra by Victoria Secrets has a price tag of £8.7
million. For that paltry sum, it has been decorated with more than 2,300 diamonds
and 1,200 pink sapphires. This year's model is still £1.74m less than
last year's £10.4m outfit. This PROVES the economy can remain stuck
in low growth/recession until the end of the Saturn-Pluto opposition this
May. So unless you are a horny teenage boy, we recommend avoiding Intimate
Brands (IBI), as well as European luxury good makers, such as Italy’s Gucci
(GUC) and or French LMVH until then.
Wasatch Beer is facing a boycott over an ad campaign for Polygamy Porter
in Utah. Slogans for the beer read 'Why have just one?' and 'Take some home
for the wives'. I think this is one perfect play for Afghanistan. However,
we don’t recommend adventure travel there as the US State Dept has just issued
the following warning: “Travel in all areas of Afghanistan, including the
capital Kabul and all major cities, is unsafe due to military operations,
banditry and the possibility of unrest given the fluid political and military
situation." Also given landmines and acute food shortages, I believe
there is a better way to take advantage of investing in Afghanistan (and the
other “stans- Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan or Pakistan)
- currency trading!
Currency traders normally buy Afghanis, which perversely tend to go up when
governments fall. However given the value of the Afghani more than doubled
the week before Thanksgiving, short term I recommend US dollars over either
the Pakistani rupee or the Afghani. Let us not ignore the wisdom of
Nasruddin from Afghanistan Online:
"How old are you, Mulla? Someone asked, 'THREE YEARS OLDER THAN MY
BROTHER. 'How do you know that? 'REASONING. LAST YEAR. I HEARD MY BROTHER
TELL SOMEONE THAT I WAS TWO YEARS OLDER THAN HIM. A YEAR HAS PASSED. THAT
MEANS THAT I AM OLDER BY ONE YEAR. I SHALL SOON BE OLD ENOUGH TO BE HIS GRANDFATHER.'
HW: I hear Nasruddin is now working for the OBM!
5. "We think the opportunities will be better and cheaper in six months'
time than they are now -- or 12 months."
Rupert Murdoch, chairman, News Corp
HW: To buy certain businesses that is true, but as for the stock market
I disagree, although there will certainly be another opportunity cycle this
Winter/Spring.
“I don't know how we can have really great confidence in coming weeks about
how to read the incoming data or how to make forecasts.”
William Poole, President, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis
HW: I do: incorporate financial astrology into your forecasting models!
6. Q: How many technical analysts does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None - the market has already discounted the change.

7. READER: A guy I work with has a very important astro turn at 10:30 eastern
time today [Nov. 21] and then down into about December 3. This is based
on eastern astrology.
HW: As traders, we are going long at DJIA 9800 and Nasdaq 1855 and
plan to begin selling circa DJIA 10,000 and Nasdaq 1931. As positional investors,
we plan to reaccumulate on any weakness during this next week and sell before
year end.
READER: Why is the US dollar so strong today?
HW: War victory. This rally should end after our projected Ben Laden take
out.
READER: When do you see CSCO at 29? Bought at 28 7/8, would you recommend
selling in December rally?
HW: I already sold. If I had not, I would in this next rally. While
a great company, CSCO sports a too high P/e of infinity (no profits) for my
taste.
READER: Dec Gold near target 270.40 Dec Silver getting close
to 3.98 US$ has met target for counter trend rally.... Timing window now into
Nov 26 for change in trend so we may be getting to where time and price come
together for potential reversal in these markets.... Russia's token production
cut makes Jan Crude target 12.32 look probable.
HW: We are bullish on gold here and disagree re: crude. As a short term
trader, I would be a BIG buyer for yet another quick up move.
READER: What is your forecasted price for IHI* this time next year? Conservatively
based, is 2.00 too low and is 4.00 too high? I thought we might see 5.00 but
it appears I am way off.
HW: Personally, I believe that $5 is conservative. To date markets have
disagreed with me. I am highly confident, however, that sooner or later,
more and more people will agree with me, given how close we are to the Delta
factory beginning production. Furthermore, aggressive traders can only
imagine how high the price will be after shorts (7.2 million shares?) will
be forced to cover!
